Project 2: Network Map Layout
Overview
A big piece of feedback we received from security experts on our initial visualization solution was that force directed network graphs
aren’t always the best way to look at structured network activity.
So we went back to the drawing board on our graphs themselves, and asked…
How can we combine the technological prowess of huge-graph networks with the simple and effective functionality of a tree chart?
The answer came in an unexpected form. In the process of testing and developing solutions for visualizing network data, we stumbled across a pattern that had never been seen before in secuirty tooling.
What if you could see your network in concentric layers? What if you could physically see network activity coming in and out of your networks core structures?
What if you could see and alert a user to data exflitration with a graphic interface?
So we created a tool we call the Network Topology Map
