Competitive Analysis

Before we can dive into defining requirements, talking to users, and building products, it’s paramount to understand the entire product ecosystem in which you are looking to build. 

In graphistry case, we looked at a combination of spaces, security tools as well as the latest in the visualization space, to get a sense of what value intelligence & automation tools brought to the table, and how we could combine with the latest in graph and network visualization.. 

We got to work spinning up test instances and digging into what works and and what doesn’t, reading user accounts, testing tech limitations, and conducting heuristic GUI analysis starting to carve out where we were going to position the tool.

Ux research

Approaching a UX research project is all about creating a rock solid strategy, and executing on that plan to deliver your team with actionable insights from the variety of user data sources surrounding your product.

At Graphistry, we wanted to focus the research on a few aspect, primarily being, how can we leverage the expertise of the security teams we work with to bring analysts a product they would actually use.

So we talked to them. We tested against them. We let real users drive our solution.

RUF Framework

Often times in a large UX research process, the lines start to blur between the types of feedback you’ve received, how they relate to eachother & how you should prioritize the insights from the process.

Taking a page from Confluence’s book, we adopted the RUF feedback catagorization framework to help us organize the results of our interviews and testing efforts.
